Happy New Year!
It's 2022 and Im hoping that this year brings out the most not only for myself but to my family as well.
Our goal is to save as much as we can so we can Retire early and be able to enjoy our time together as a family without the stress of work and deadlines.
Part of that goal is to make sure we are eating healthy and making sure we spend less yet not giving up our love for food and adventure.
After paying a hefty amount of $16 for a plate of Goat Biryani, I told myself that I will learn how to make it on my own.
Got all the spices I needed, luckily we have this new Indian Bazarre that offers authentic Indian products that we love that is close to us and doesn't cost that much compared to the ones we go to before.
Equipped with all the ingredients I needed, I venture on the cooking and I'm happy to announced that it taste far better than I expected. Not as great as I wanted coz I wanted it to taste like my favorite dish from a restaurant back in Singapore called MAHARAJAH
The rice is not what I wanted (texture wise) so I have to learn how to adjust it base on the Basmati rice that I got. One thing I noticed is that, most recipe I found on the internet never mentioned anything about what Basmati rice it is and just give you a time and the procedure. I followed everything and it ends up a bit mushy so I think I need to just follow my hunch when it comes to cooking it and how I remember the taste of it.
The photo doesn't do justice, coz it taste better than what it looks like. Overall I'm happy with the outcome and I think I prefer the chicken version over the Goat. Will give that a try next time.
For now I get to enjoy this meal and realized that I may be able to make it work. So with that as a 2022 resolution, I hope you join me on my journey and hopefully I get too see you again!
Thank you for being here!
Much Love,
Yonij
